Moon Dance Ireland – Introduction and Gratitude Prayer Ceremony with Yaneli

2024 was a magical year for the island as it welcomed the first Meztli Ehecamitl to Ireland, Mexican elders joined Mexican and Irish women in creating the Moondance ceremony at the beautiful site of Drummany, Co Cavan. 

It was a site to behold the beauty was majestic and the healing was on any levels from land to individual to collective. This year in August it will happen once more, do you feel the calling?

MOONDANCE is a powerful ceremony that brings women from different backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs to pray together in one circle. This gathering is a very meaningful experience focused on mindfulness, healing, and prayer. It runs for four consecutive nights, once a year around a full moon.

 This ritual has deep historical roots in the ancient Anahuac (North America) and is now practiced worldwide. In sacred geometry dancers are lined up based on the four directions: East, North, West, and South; also representing the four elements of life: Fire, Wind, Earth, and Water.

There are prayer songs going on for the whole night accompanied by the deep sound of a traditional drum called Huehuetl (meaning elder or grandmother) whose beat keeps the energy and focus for the dancers while it resonates on Mother Earth, letting her know that we love and respect her for she takes care of us.

During this four-day period, dancers refrain from eating solid food, engaging in idle chatter, and seeking comfort. Instead, they would aim to self-empower and tap into their spiritual body to elevate their prayers to the Great Spirit. Additionally, they would strive for physical and emotional healing by fasting, going into the sweat lodge and the dance circle; thus, entering a higher vibrational state where they have a clear vision and personal power to manifest their dreams into life.

 The Moondance ceremony raises awareness and facilitates personal growth, ultimately preparing participants to actively contribute to the betterment of the world as responsible and accountable women who are conscious of prioritizing love and good care for their own, their families, and communities. Becoming guardians of the elements that sustain human existence and committed to forging a new reality characterized by harmony, respect, and abundance for this and future generations.

We stand on the threshold of a sacred journey, as the heartbeat of our feminine souls calls us to gather in profound unity.

It is with honour that we extend an invitation to all women above 18 years old to partake in the ancient ritual of the Native American Sacred Gratitude Ceremony followed by an introductory talk towards the Moondance Ceremony to be held in Ireland next August 2025

Together, we shall ignite the sacred fire within our hearts and unite our intentions, creating a space where trust, respect, and love weave effortlessly. This sacred ceremony grants us a unique opportunity to honor and embrace the profound teachings of the Native American ways, awakening the dormant wisdom that resides within our souls.

As we gather, we humbly ask you to bring your presence, your openness, and your willingness to let go of the pretentiousness. Let us gather in deep authenticity, ready to shed the layers that no longer serve, and to access our collective strength, resilience, and tenderness. Guided by the wisdom keeper of the Mexica tradition Yanelí Meztli we will embrace gratitude to allow blessings to manifest. May the echoes of our prayers reverberate through time and space, uniting our hearts in a pure intention.
